Privacy & cookies
Plain-English version: we collect the details you put in our quote form so we can match you with providers, and we use cookies for analytics and ad measurement only if you accept them. Last updated June 2026.
Who we are
Compare Business Costs (https://comparebusinesscosts.co.uk) is an independent comparison service for UK businesses. For data-protection questions, contact hello@comparebusinesscosts.co.uk.
What we collect and why
- Quote enquiries. When you submit the quote form we collect your name, company, email, phone, the services you’re interested in, company size and any message. We use this to contact you and to match you with relevant providers. Lawful basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in providing the service you asked for.
- Provider matching. If you ask us for quotes, we may share your enquiry with the relevant providers so they can quote. We never sell your data.
- Analytics & advertising. If you accept cookies, we use Google (Analytics & Ads), Meta and LinkedIn to understand traffic and measure our advertising. These set cookies and share data with those providers. Lawful basis: your consent. You can decline and the site works the same.
- Technical data. Standard server logs and, with the enquiry, your IP and browser (to help prevent spam).
Cookies
We don’t set any analytics or advertising cookies until you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then, Google tags run in Consent Mode (no advertising or analytics storage) and the Meta and LinkedIn tags don’t load at all. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which brings the banner back.
- Strictly necessary: your cookie choice and (in the admin area) a login session.
- Analytics & ads (consent only): Google Analytics/Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and our records, then deleted. Analytics data follows each provider’s retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to processing. Email hello@comparebusinesscosts.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month. You can also complain to the ICO.
